Lost & Found IV
Adventure into the Uncompahgre Wilderness
Lost & Found III
Last summer myself and a few friends embarked on a camping trip just outside of Aspen, Colorado. We found an amazing spot within a grove of aspen trees to set camp and set of on a sunset hike through the Collegiate Peak Wilderness. The weekend was filled with exploring around the Maroon Bells, the town of Aspen, and sitting by the fire passing around a bottle of whiskey. Trips like this show how you it's always worth it to make the most out of a weekend. Click on the photo to scroll through the weekend!
Lost & Found II
Often after a trip I have a ton of photos that fall through the cracks and never see the light of day. I've been revisiting some old trips and finding forgotten photos that help tell the story behind my favorite shots. Over the next few weeks I plan to finally publish some of these photos and share some of the journey behind the photos.
Lake Yellowstone Sunrise l August, 2016
Waking up for sunrise can often end up a slight mental battle. Especially when you were up late into the night sitting on an overlook taking long exposures. You know it will be worth it but the allure of the warm sleeping bag and the perpetual drag of '5 more minutes' seem to offer a strong arguments at the time. This was one of the times where tuning out the desire to sleep wasn't too difficult. Camping on the bluff overlooking Lake Yellowstone in mid-August I woke up before dawn to go walk along shore of the Lake. As I made my way across the road down to the shore line the first bit of light began to glow in the distance. On the shore, the tidal pools and tall grass shimmered with the glow of the rising sun. Slowly a few others emerged in the distance to watch the sun slowly peak above the mountains in the distance and welcome in the new day.
